Spain - An award for the defence and promotion of Human Rights - Distinction: Mondino will receive the "Hoja de Otoño" Award |
The Argentine Ombudsman Eduardo Mondino will be rewarded by the Alcalá University, within the frame of a tribute to Argentina.
The Alcalá University, Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La Mancha and Diputación de Guadalajara agreed to honor the Argentine Ombudsman Eduardo Mondino with the "Hoja de Otoño 2007" award appreciating his defence and promotion of human rights.
This important award has been received by renown celebrities and institutions, such as the Red Cross President (due to the task carried out by this entity during the11M attack); Carmen Romero (Deputy and Felipe González's wife, due to her involvement as regards the understanding between Marruecos and Spain), the Virtual Library "Miguel de Cervantes" (on occasion of the IV hundredth anniversary of Cervantes's birth) and the writer Mario Vargas Llosa, all of them recognised for their social and cultural role and also for the promotion of human rights.
The "Hoja de Otoño" award presentation will be tomorrow in the Teatro Auditorio Buero Vallejo of Guadalajara City, Spain within the frame of a tribute to Argentina.
Other celebrities will be present: the Spanish Ombudsman, Enrique Múgica Herzog, an Iberoamerican Ombudsmen delegation, academic authorities, the Technical Director Jorge Valdano and delegates and institutions from the cultural, intellectual and human rights field. José Sacristán will act as Master of Ceremonies; further, the cartoonist Quino and the leader of the world-wide tango ambassador Cuarteto Cedrón -"Tata" Cedrón will also be awarded.
